The challenge: Growth outpacing the platform

Al Forsan is a hospitality enterprise spanning hospitality, retail, and event management. As the business expanded, its digital infrastructure couldn’t keep up. Every content change needed developer involvement. Bookings — across individual reservations, memberships, vouchers, and seasonal schedules — were error-prone. Payments through Apple Pay and CyberSource sometimes didn’t sync with booking status. And during festival season, traffic spikes caused scheduling delays and double-bookings.

“We were growing fast, but our website couldn’t keep pace. Even small content updates meant waiting on developers, and during peak season, the booking system would buckle under demand,” says the relationship manager from team Alforsan.

The brief was clear:

  1. Build a platform that non-technical teams could run independently.
  2. Design it for flexibility, scalability, and future enhancements.
  3. Fix the booking and payment issues that were costing trust with guests.

Starting with discovery, not assumptions

Before any code was written, W2S ran a series of discovery workshops with Al Forsan’s team, project managers, and business analysts to map out goals, pain points, and priorities. And then began the development game.

1. A CMS non-technical team can actually run

W2S built a modular, drag-and-drop CMS that lets Al Forsan’s content teams create, update, and remove webpages themselves. The framework stayed flexible enough for deeper customization where needed, while removing developers from the day-to-day content loop entirely.

Result: 58% faster webpage creation.

2. SEO and performance, built in

SEO specialists and backend developers worked together to integrate third-party SEO and marketing tools directly into the CMS, optimize site architecture, and improve load times. And all of this without compromising the visual experience.

Result: 43% improvement in page load performance, alongside stronger search visibility.

 

3. Access control that matches how the team actually works

A custom role-based access control (RBAC) system gives Super Admins control over privileges, menus, and restrictions for other roles, while Admins get exactly the access they need to manage bookings and content. No More, No Less.

4. Multilingual support

W2S combined automated translation with manual refinement to support both languages (English and Arabic) accurately and with cultural relevance. Alforsan got seamless switching across the entire platform, not just select pages.

5. A booking engine built for complexity

The rebuilt booking system supports individual reservations, membership-based bookings, vouchers and coupons, seasonal schedules, holidays, buffer periods, and offline/manual bookings. All running on real-time conflict detection.

Result: 72% improvement in booking accuracy.

 

6. Fixing the payment-booking disconnect

The root issue: payments through Apple Pay and CyberSource were processing, but booking status wasn’t updating to reflect them. W2S’s engineering team rebuilt the payment workflow with a focus on reliability for international travelers.

Result: 67% reduction in payment-related booking errors.

7. Holding up under festival-season traffic

With the new booking engine, real-time updates, and a more resilient AWS infrastructure, the platform now handles peak traffic without the overlaps and slowdowns that used to define festival season.

Result: 82% increase in platform reliability during peak seasons.

Launch, training, and what’s next

W2S ran hands-on training for Al Forsan’s non-technical staff so they could manage content and bookings independently from day one, with support specialists on standby.
